Please note that due to recent problems with the Xbox 360 console, Microsoft has extended an exclusive warranty for the "3 Red Rings Of Death" problem with the system, which bumps the warranty up from 1 year to 3 years from date of purchase.
Although the first year warranty does not apply to all countries, the 3RROD is compulsory for all Xbox 360s. However, this extended warranty does not affect any problems you experience with the rest of the console within the first year of ownership and so any other problems will still be able to be dealt with by Xbox 360 Customer Support.
